Dear Friends:
The teaching sheet is a great idea for hospital staff in other units!
I would include something about the ONLY contraindications for
breastfeeding: HIV+, partner has HIV, IV drug abuse. She can breastfeed if she has any
infectious disease, although she will have to pump and dump until her active TB
gets under control. (See Lawrence for the details about active, untreated TB
and also chickenpox).
I would also see about getting a copy of Hale, or at least the AAP drug
list to include with the teaching sheet.
