The situation you describe, Sarah, sounds like she has an extreme case of
the Overabundant sukpply symdrome, although Kathleen A may disagree with me.
Has she tried nursing with the baby "uphill", that is, the back of the
throat uphill from the nipple? Or getting the milk to eject before the baby
nurses..to take off some of that extreme force? She could let some of the
milk go into a cloth diaper before nursing?
Nursing frequently will help the engorgement, and prevent a build up,
perhaps? Gee,..I have never had someone have this tkype of problem. Does
anyone think it could be hormonal? Could there be a pituitary component?
