"Isn't some of the living they make off of UFO tourism? I've heard that
Roswell holds a yearly festival, like any other town festival 'round and
about. How would that show up in the archaeological record?"

I can answer the question as of 1999 when I visited Roswell to research a
magazine article. UFO tourism was (probably still is) a major industry
there. The article was published in June, '99 in Travelin' Magazine and a
copy is posted on my website at
http://home.houston.rr.com/netauthor/roswell.html

The festival was an annual affair with camputs, tailgate parties, etc. They
would have left a profound footprint on the site, which was (is?) a private
ranch.
