A friend has just had me listen to a Barbirolli version of Vaughan
Williams' Tallis.  He is conducting the Sinfonia of London.

Could anyone tell me anything at all about the Sinfonia of London?  It
seems to have disappeared without trace at some point in the 1960s, but
maybe I'm not a good sleuth...
