You are partly right -- anyone admitted got an A.M., so anyone you see with an
A.M. only from Harvard is likely someone who 'flunked out'. Rather than
simply terminating a poor student, Harvard has usually given out a 'terminal
A.M.' degree. So in gossip-mongering, as you were doing, you might note that
your comments are basically restricted to A.M. only degrees from there.
