Hello..recently we had a Hispanic patient who had a 'drink' that family =
brought in that was to help her milk supply. I haven't seen this =
before. It was white, looked like a cornstarch preparation, thick like =
gravy would be, not much odor. Anyone familiar with this and does it =
have any real 'scientific' benefit??

do you know where the family is from exactly? if it's mexico, it's very
common for new moms to be advised to drink horchata for their milk. this is a thick
rice milk based drink. i have always heard it promoted as something that will
make her milk milder and ease fussiness/gas in the baby moreso than something
to increase supply, though. that was the only drink i could think of fitting
your description, sorry if it's no help. are you able to ask them the name of
the drink and what's in it ?
