Sallinen's 4th Symphony on BIS, coupled with "Shadows" and the 5th
Symphony seems to be a 'backorder' item at most internet sales sites.
At CDNOW, there is a subsidiary seller listing it for about $17.00.
These 'subs' are supposed to have the item in stock, but there have been
times when that's just a pipe-dream and the disc never arrives. There
are four Sallinen products available at Berkshire Record Outlet, but
none of the 4th Symphony.

I thought that when BIS was issuing its Sallinen discs that an outpouring
of additional Sallinen recordings would be forthcoming from the so-called
major companies. However, like always, the majors just keep grinding
out more 'top 40', cameo, and crossover discs.
