I just want to second the idea that LCs in need of a pick-me-up
should attend LLL meetings. You will see examples of the normal
course of breastfeeding -- "normal" meaning *biologically* normal not
necessarily *culturally* normal (at least here in N. America)!
Meetings are full of success stories -- tales of mothers-in-law won
over, rocky starts overcome, healthy glowing babies exclusively
bf'ing, moms empowered.

I have been happily surprised many times by the breastfeeding
commitment of moms, even (especially!) those who initially gave me
reason to doubt. The power of peer support and mother-to-mother
sharing is incredible. Some of the new moms sit there with eyes like
saucers, watching and absorbing. As they return month after month,
*they* become the experienced moms for others to look to. Watching
these transformations unfold is the best part.

When any of you begin think that bf apathy is rampant, come to an LLL
meeting to see a whole different attitude.
