What a rotten experience! Anyway, I wanted to just add that in my
pre-baby life I worked in a hotel. I would suggest that if this ever
happened to anyone that they ask the desk staff to summon the Director
of Marketing and/or the General Manager. Usually, the DOM handles
conferences and groups for the hotel (if not, then the GM is who you
will want to talk to) and will be extremely anxious to keep a group's
people happy. Conferences are the bread and butter of most hotels. If
they can't/won't let the use of a conference room or empty guest room,
ask them to lend you their office for 15 minutes. I'd be willing to bet
that most would let you use their office just to keep you happy (quiet).
