Your web site is a good idea Cathy. My Ph.D site is 1870-1945 and I have
delineated databases from ca1870-1883, 1884-1894, 1895-1910 and a surface
set dating from ca1911 onwards.

I have done a lot of artifact dating, mostly on the three earlier databases
and from published sources of various sorts including post office
directories from London. I will also be able to date some things by
association. Would you be interested in that?

I have published some information in the Australian Journal of Historical
Archaeology but as I have not finished the Ph.D most of the work is not
published.

The Australian journal also contains an article dating wire nail production
which is very good. The New Zealanders are very hot on dating, there are
great articles on a number of things like tin match boxes and toiletries.
Check out their journal and some of their Ph.D's.

Gaye
