Thank you for sharing your heartfelt post with us.  I think we all must feel frustrated at different times.  I know I feel many times after seeing one "trainwreck" after another, things that can even simply be pointed back to poor hospital policy, and a mother who was "half" interested, I sometimes wonder if there are any "normal" breastfeeding mothers and babies in the world.  You all must know what I mean, the kind that actually latch, don't hurt the mother, and then even gain weight!  Remember, that, at least those of us in private practice, we see the *problems*.  Most people don't make an appointment to be sure things are going well.  (Isn't that refreshing when that does happen every once in a while!)
So yes, I can understand where you are coming from.  I find usually when I am the most burnt out, I will have a mother call me to tell me I absolutely changed her life, etc.  Or that tough baby will finally just get it, ...
And somehoe it reminds me where I want to be, helping in a small way, one mother and baby at a time.
I am sure you are doing a fantastic job, under very stressful conditions.
