I happened to be talking with an old friend recently that I hadn't seen in
years. When she found out that I was a lactation consultant she had all
sorts of breastfeeding questions or comments to make about her and her
daughters breastfeeding experiences.(We really do touch womens lives)
Anyway, it seems as if both her daughter and her daughters best friend had
both had the experience of losing their milk after a short trip to Colorado.
They were both convinced that the altitude change (they live on the East
coast) caused their milk to dry up. I have never heard of this happening
and couldn't believe her, but said I would post to the list to see if
anyone else has ever experienced this or has any idea why this might occur.
Babies were 6 and 8 months old when this happened and nursing had been going
fine before the trips. Ever hear of this?
