Barbara, you wrote, "No birth control measure except for
sterilization is 100%, but the problem is that a woman who falls into the 2%
risk category winds up 100% pregnant."

So true! But I have to tell that I knew a mother several years ago who
had had a sterilization that "failed" - just proving that no method of
birth control is 100% effective. Mom had had two planned babies, and felt
her family was complete at this point. Then there was a "mistake", a third
baby. After this she decided to take no more chances and had her tubes
tied. But ..... Oops! Much to everyone's consternation, especially the
OB's - she became pregnant again. To top it all, this time she had
twins! So that meant she now had five children instead of the two she had
planned. Needless to say, she was delighted with them all, and breastfed
the twins beautifully (I only got to know her after the birth of the twins,
when she told me the story).
