I have a question from a mom that I am not positive about the answer.  She
was given the progestin only pill after birth.  Because of what she read
about possible side effects of the pill on milk supply, she waited until two
months postpartum to start it.  She did not experience menstruation during
the two months post partum (no surprise there) and at 4 months post partum is
still not.  She was wondering if her lack of menstruation was still due to
breastfeeding--how does this all change in conjunction with the pill.  Is the
birth control effect multiplied?  Should she menstruate since starting the
pill? I have found no information to address this question, nor experience.
I usually hear from moms who are thinking of starting the pill while
breastfeeding or who have started it and have experienced a decrease in their
milk supply.
