There is an excellent site from Quebec's Department of Natural Ressources at

http://arpentage.mrn.gouv.qc.ca/conversion/

The site contains an excellent history of French and English systems of
measure from the 17th Century to today ("Historique et cadre légal : Mesure
de
la longueur et de la superficie au Québec du Regime francais à aujourd’hui";
http://arpentage.mrn.gouv.qc.ca/conversion/historique.htm) as well as a
table
of correspondances between different systems ("Table d'equivalences
metriques";
http://arpentage.mrn.gouv.qc.ca/conversion/table-equivalence.htm).

It's only available in French though.

Hello,

I'm working on two French Huguenot sites seated about 1715. Is there
anyone who has information on the French system of measures equivalent
to the English foot, yard, mile system in place at that time?

Thanks in advance.

Lyle Browning
