The School of Conservation Sciences is inviting applications for a number of
posts within its Archaeology and Historic Environment Group, one of the
largest academic communities of archaeologists in southern Britain.


ESTABLISHED CHAIR IN ENVIRONMENTAL ARCHAEOLOGY
from ?42,920 per annum (Please quote reference: CS72)

You will provide effective leadership to the Group's Centre for
Environmental Archaeology whilst making a significant contribution to
learning and teaching, curriculum development, research and enterprise
activities. Experience in one or more of the following areas will be
essential: maritime/coastal archaeology, landscape archaeology, pollen
studies, ancient timber, dendrochronology or palaeoentomology. Evidence of
successful bidding to research councils and other bodies will be required.

READER IN ANCIENT MATERIALS ANALYSIS

You will play a significant role in the leadership and development of the
School's research strategy, particularly in the activities of the School's
Centre for Technology, Production and Ancient Materials. Experience in one
or more of the following areas will be essential: ceramics, petrology,
glass, building materials, material culture studies, or anthropological
perspectives on technology and its social context. A successful track record
of research and refereed publications and supervision of MPhil and PhD
students will be required.

SENIOR LECTURER IN MEDIEVAL AND LATER EUROPEAN ARCHAEOLOGY

You will take a leading role in teaching and research in the area of
medieval and later archaeology in the UK and Europe. Your demonstrable
contribution to the Group's Centre for Landscape, Townscape and Coastal
Archaeology will be essential. Knowledge and experience of cultural resource
management issues and professional practice within Europe is desirable.

LECTURER IN ARCHAEOLOGICAL SOILS
?22,191 ·?27,669 per annum (Please quote reference: CS75)

You will delivery core units on undergraduate, postgraduate and professional
courses, supervise research students and fieldwork and develop research in
the area of archaeological soils and soils science. Your knowledge of the
subject area, together with evidence of contributing to research teams will
be essential. 

ASSOCIATE LECTURER (0.5 fte) IN HERITAGE AND MUSEUM STUDIES
?11,096 - ?13,835 per annum (Please quote reference: CS76)

You will deliver core units in the area of heritage, museum studies and
cultural resource management and contribute to the Group's Centre for
Cultural Resource Management. Knowledge and experience of cultural resource
management issues and museum practice is essential, as is the ability to
develop research, teaching and enterprise activity within the subject area.
Experience of museums at an international level, as well as possession of an
AMA, is desirable.
