Brave New Works will be in residence at Tufts University for 10 days;
June 1-9, 2003.  Brave New works will be working with 8 composers during
the workshop their creations and also to present 3 concerts and prepare
for the seventh season of Championing new works by composers.

Brave New Works is a group of musicians who believe in championing
composers is the way to bring new music to a wider audience.  Membership
includes, Maria Sampen[violin], Steve Miahky[violin], Tim Christie[viola],
Katri Ervamaa[cello], Emily Perryman[on maternity leave, will be substituted
by Sarah Brady], Celia Eidex[clarinet], Amy Ley[harp], Winston Choi[piano,
Jennifer Goltz[voice], Chris Younghoon Kim[conductor].

Concert No. 1
June 3 tuesday 8 pm
solo works by R. Murray Schafer, Bright Sheng, Earl Kim, Kristy Kuster,
Grazyna Bacewicz, Michael Colquhoun  and John Zorn.

Concert No. 2
June 8 Sunday 8 pm

Karim Al-Zand Winter Scenes [soprano, harp, flute, viola]
John McDonald Duettino John Mcdonald and Winston Choi
Leslie Bassett Pierrot Songs

June 9, Monday 8 pm
Works written for Brave New Works by
Lindsey Schust, Abigail Al-Doory, Matthew Snook, Ryan Vigil, Luis Gonzalez,
Russ Gershon, Don Schechter and John McDonald's Inventious Network
that's 7 world premieres and 1 east coast premiere in one night.

All concerts are free and open to the public, thanks to a generous grant
from the trustees of Tufts University, and all concerts will be at Goddard
