Perhaps, the one covered bridge in the foothills of the White Mountains,
illustrates, a symbol partial to the lore of the UGRR. If it was known that
certain covered bridges along the route, like rail "tunnels" over water was
one of the goals, they may have become part of the story. This particular
one is through some pretty rugged terrain, through an ancient caldera,
partially closed today in the Ossipee Mountains, leading along to a trail
further north I don't know where it exactly went. To follow the "Drinking
Gourd" the lore of the Big Dipper or Ursa Major is often referred to in the
story of it also, perhaps the rivers and covered bridges referenced thus
also.
