Heard on the news tonight that someone has transmitted the pox via
vaccination to wife and she is very ill. also another report of a soldier
who transmitted the virus via kissing! Theory is that she scratched her
site, touched her mouth and infected a spot there. Supposed to be an
article in New Eng J of Med this mo on a retrospective study of accidental
innoculations (lit review of past x years) so I think a lot of care is
going to need to be taken as this process gets underway. The discussion
was also about vaccinating med personnel and how to keep them from
spreading it to immunocompromised pts :-(
As it applies to BF - BFing family - co-sleeping etc. Great care will need
to be taken. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
