One poster muses about a more politically-correct term than "cigarette
hold." I agree -- I used to cringe when I heard that. Then I heard an LC
use the phrase "scissors hold," and now I am cringe-free.

One pro-BF pediatrician in my area tells moms that baby was latched well if
mom's nipple "is shaped like a cigar" when baby detaches. I cringe again ...
but the kicker is that everyone knows *immediately* what has been described.
I've taken to describing a healthy, post-nursing nipple as "shaped like a
peg," but I'm not sure this is adequate.

So, how do all of *you* describe a nipple that looks just fine?

I believe Lactnet has discussed before the description of a compressed
nipple looking like "the end of a brand-new lipstick." I love that one. (I
heard it first from Nikki Lee, but I don't think she's the originator.)
Let's keep this thread to okay-nipples-only.
