As an observer, and a former listening member of WFUV, the Fordham
University radio tower in the response, I thought I would just relate a few
bits of info about it as seen from here (I can't).

1) the current radio tower, put up in the 1940's, is attached to gothic
architecture in the most peculiar way, and perhaps a health hazard to the
students and those that use it. Alan Alda was a DJ there once so it has been
there for quite some time.

2) Currently, the incomplete tower on the athletic field has been cited as
being 11 feet too close to the Bronx Botanical Gardens and told to be taken
down. It currently, and is of a superior design in my opinion, that is the
lattice is also a lattice, therefore even less metal in the air, is about 50
percent completed. WFUV has the longest continuous sports radio show in the
country, now I imagine on the air continually for near 60 years. It plays an
important role also in the music industry, and presents live artists and
recorded music, along with a Sunday service for Catholics.

3) Fordham University has a current historical archaeology program.
Excavations at "Rose Hill" on its campus and an extensive local history
"brick library" has trained current archaeologists in historical
archaeology.

4) the State of New York recently published an updated surficial geology map
of the Boroughs of New York and in particular a fault line was discovered to
run in the vicinity according to compiled information from subway
construction, borings, and other data.
