True, but Ron was referring to armies looting "spoils of war" as if it were
excusable just because it is traditional. It's no more excusable for armies
to loot national treasures than it is for members of the press or anybody
else, for that matter. The US is already viewed by many in the world as
invaders and bullies. We don't need to reinforce that notion by allowing the
looting of a conquered nation by the victorious army, the press or even by
the people we've "liberated".
