HISTARCHers:

As a follow-up to my earlier message this afternoon, for those of you who
want more facts about the Department of Interior's study on whether to cut
some federal archeologist positions, I'd like to refer you to the following
web site:

http://www.doi.gov/pam/competitivesourcing/

The link called < *Competive Sourcing FAQs.> is especially informative. It
takes you to:

http://www.doi.gov/pam/competitivesourcing/CompetitiveSourcingFAQs.doc

For those of you going to Milwaukee next month, this might be invaluable
background to take to the business meeting. If I can find other public web
sites with pertinent information, I will pass it on to all of you.

By the way, I am informed by a contact in Washington, D. C. that the
treasure hunter groups are deliriously happy over the prospect of no NPS
archeologists around to interfere with their hobbies.

Again, thank you for your interest.
