<< A client who's nursing a 2 1/2 year old has begun having the worst PMS
she's
ever had - she becomes "completely irrational", a sort of Jekyl/Hyde - and
she wondered if it could be related to bfing. She had Zoloft recommended to
her and found that it did indeed help, but discontinued it when she
developed pain in her arm, down to her fingers, that she thought might be
related. After she discontinued the Zoloft, the pain disappeared."

I have to admit my shock that Zoloft would be prescribed for PMS! This is
just plain symptom management that ignores the underlying cause. I strongly
recommend John Lee MD's books, "What Your Doctor May Not Have Told You About
Premenopause" and "What Your Doctor May Not Have Told You About Menopause".
So many women today are experiencing premenopause due to a progesterone
deficiency. Women who accept drug management as the answer to these symptoms
often do not become educated about their bodies during this transition and
end up with hysterectomies or estrogen replacement therapy--both dangerous,
if not deadly decisions. There are so many gentle and effective ways of
addressing such symptoms, such as herbs like vitex, suma or maca,
supplements, homeopathy, use of natural progesterone and acupuncture. IMO,
she should see a holistic practitioner.
