Julie,
There are a lot of nuances to using the SNS well.  I suggest you call a
local lactation consultant and refer these moms to her, and go along to
see how she helps them.  If they can't afford an LC, or there are none
in the area (but being in NJ I'm sure they are accessible), you can
check the Lactnet archives for some discussion of some of the nuances.
