Music of The Americas Presents Young Performers Night Concert at the
Americas Society - Wednesday, May 22 at 7:30 PM

The Americas Society Music of the Americas concert series is pleased
to present Young Performers Night, a concert of five young pianists in
recital on Wednesday, May 22, 2002, 7:30 PM at the Americas Society,
680 Park Avenue, corner of Park Avenue and 68th St. in Manhattan.

For the end of the 2001-2002 season, the Americas Society will present
a delightful evening showcasing young musicians of extraordinary talent.
The pianists are Claire Lee (9 years old); Ezra Surowicz (16 years old);
Ji In Park (15 years old); Nathaniel Yangko (26 years old); and Samantha
Whitmore (10 years old).

The program will include works by Rameau, Scarlatti, Mozart, Lecuona,
Pieczonka, Lalo Schifrin, Juan Jose Castro, A.  Chazarreta and others.

General Admission tickets are $5.  Reservations can be made by calling

The Americas Society is a national not-for-profit institution dedicated to
engaging with people in the United States about the societies and cultures
of their Western Hemisphere neighbors.  In January of 2001 the Society
created the Music Department and appointed Conductor/Flutist MariaElena
Tobon as its Director.  The New Music Department seeks to increase
awareness and promote the performances of works by composers from Latin
America, the Caribbean and Canada, and to represent these region's
