Cal Performances followed up last week's announcement of Thomas Quasthoff's
cancellation of his 14 February and 9 March, 2003, Berkeley appearances by
releasing information today that Salvatore Licitra will make his American
concert debut in Zellerbach Hall on Sunday, Feb. 2.

Licitra, half the age, half the size, and half the voice of Pavarott,
made what may be described as a "headliner" appearance on May 11, in his
US opera debut, when Pavarotti stiffed the Metropolitan the last minute.

Ah, tenors!
