When I caught myself having written Bb A C Bn (B-A-C-H) today, I thought
a comment about seeing imitation and emulation in similar patterns might
be appropriate -- there are times when a few notes are important and have
nothing to do with homage to someone or another. I'm sure I am not the
only composer who finds a roundabout chromatic step up (Bb to Bn) to be
interesting. If it happens to start on Bb, because of other tonal motion
in the composition, that is coincidence only.
