I know that for example Sjostakovitj had agreed completely here, as he
uses exactly the same word (2nd rank) to describe Cuis musicmaking, but
I guess you came up with an insult here as well.  In fact, Cui considered
himself to be the greatest composer ever, and he did no secret of this
belief, so I guess after your judgement he will turn in his grave (or
rattle in his urn or whatever).  He certainly will be more insulted as
others are proud of having the music shared.
