Wow thanks very much for the link to the single bottle pasteurisation kit -
that's really good.  That should be promoted to mothers who have HIV.  But
getting back to CMV.  John May reports that CMV is killed at 62.5C in 30
minutes - this little pasteuriser only reportedly maintains the milk at
60C.  He also notes that at 56C that there can be some CMV remaining after
30 mins.  It would be a good study to check the milk of a mother with CMV
treated in this little pasteuriser after 30 mins or 45 mins - I'd lay money
on the CMV being eliminated.

But of particular interest is that CMV is killed after 3 days freezing.  If
your NICU won't pay for that nice little pasteuriser how about freezing the
milk for 3 days, then feeding it to your prems?
