Domperidone has fewer CNS side effects. I have seen so many moms on Reglan
(metoclopramide) develop sx of depression. It is AAP arroved for use in
breastfeeding mothers.
As Catherine Fetheston has pointed out, we still don't know why a prolactin
stimulator seems to boost supply or act as a galactagogue. Animal studies
suggest that growth hormone may be a better way to go, but I don't know of
much work being done with that in humans.
