Okay, looks like I'll be doing some formal "educating" since I opened my mouth about the issue with the grieving mother who didn't want to stop pumping. I did point out that the issue was compassion and sensitivity, not breastfeeding...awaiting a reply to that email. Nonetheless, does anyone know of any references about bereavement and breastfeeding--especially anything that discusses pumping after her baby dies? I have my own beliefs and thoughts, as well as experiences with mothers from the NICU whose babies have died, But some good old-fashioned evidence would be helpful. I have looked in all the usual references--no luck. Thanks, Maureen Allen
