Am I the only one disappointed by the Faure biography by Jessica Duchen
(Phaidon, 2000).  I thought it was rather heavy on gossip but short on
analysis.  Faure's beautiful Requiem got only about 3 (short) pages!  Does
anyone know where a better treatment of the Requiem can be found? there
are several biographies on Faure, but they are quite expensive (over 50.00
certainly and often over 100.00) so I'm a little hesitant to simply order
one.  Or any good books on Impressionist musicians in general?
