I am working with a postpartum mother who has been on Prozac 20 mg for the
last trimester of her pregnancy. She has stopped the Prozac 72 hrs. ago and
is beginning Zoloft tonite. How long should she consider pumping and dumping
before she offers her breastmilk to her 35 wk. baby?
My understanding is that the most conservative approach would be to pump and
dump for 10 days, and the other option would be to feed her baby and watch
for any effects.
