My name is Tammy and I am a first year graduate student at University of
Arkansas. I'm getting an early start on my thesis which is: To keep or not
to keep, the de-accession of artifacts. Basically, I am going to develop a
policy on what artifacts to keep and what to discard on collections still
being analyzed and already accessed collections. With curation facilities
around the US running out of storage space, this policy is greatly needed.
What I am wondering is do you think a de-accession policy is needed.
Also does anyone have any policies you follow ro reduce the amount of
artifacts to be curated?
Any other comments, suggestions, and/or opinions will be greatly
appreciated. You can email me directly or on histarch at [log in to unmask]

Thanks,
Tammy Seiter
