Victor Herbert (who also wrote a cello concerto), Leonard Bernstein,
George Gershwin come to mind. Perhaps John Williams belongs on that list
as well as Bernard Hermann and Kurt Weill. There was also a composer named
Vladimir Dukelsky who did popular music as Vernon Duke, but other than that
sound bite I know nothing about him.
