I think, certainly from a viewpoint in the UK, that San Francisco is a
location that comes up time and time again with supporting contemporary
music.

One release that's coming out soon in the UK is an opera Dead Man Walking
by (I think) Heggie.  I'm not familiar with his works, but this certainly
has the right (San Franciscian) pedigree and a promising cast.  Can you
shed any more light on this work?
