Other Belgian composers of that period worth hearing (apart from Cesar
Franck, born Belgian but became French, and died after being struck by a
pole from a horse-drawn omnibus) are Peter Benoit, Jan Blockx (sometime
pupil of Benoit, died suddenly of apoplexy), and Edgar Tinel.
