<< Just a few stories, it helps me to tell them. >>

Then, by all means, tell them Kate. Part of community is the ability to make
space for the pain and suffering of others. But, I do not think stories from
Oklahoma City will soothe your heart very much, since that tradgey, much as
it might have, did not change us as a people. Today, we have a new group
consciousness. We felt, for a brief moment, what it can mean to be truly
heart-connected, both in utter despair and in hope. We felt what is possible
at its worst and at its best, all in the same moment. It is possible to be
lost in an instant, or to have lost our whole frame of reference, whether as
a family or as a world community. And it is possible to be kind and feel that
others are truly being kind to us, it is possible to stand
shoulder-to-shoulder w/ strangers and know that we are not strangers at all.
It is possible feel our hearts broken wide open, as if they may never heal,
knowing that only in the breaking utterly and completely may they expand in
love and consciousness. Joseph Chilton Pearce says that when two heart cells
are separated by a certain distance on a slide, they die, but when they are
moved close together, they beat in unison, comminicating at a level of
intelligence that science has yet to explain. It is my prayer that that
intelligence becomes our guide--imagine what we may become when our hearts
can beat as one!
