Heather, you said:
"Our next stats will be out next year.
They're pretty reliable stats, and come from impeccable academic research."
I was surprised to see this -- in what sense are these impeccable academic
research? They come from the government and they cover a large sample, but
some of the questions they don't ask.....and in 'Infant Feeding and Asian
Families' -- a similar publication but done only once, they showed some
incredible basic ignorance of practice in the communities they were looking
at. I suppose it comes down to what 'impeccable academic research' is. A
24 hour recall on 'exclusive' breastfeeding should be starting to seem
woefully inadequate. I have always wondered who the authors of the reports
are -- I never hear of them in any other bf context, so always assumed that
they are stats bods. Maybe you mean the stats is impeccable academic stuff?
BTW, I am not faulting them for what they are, but they are govt stats and
tell a certain story. I pore over them for five years willing them to tell
me more....
