Does anyone have an explanation or has seen a mother in terrible pain from
a pinched nipple, but on digital suck exam no pinching is felt and the suck
is normal?  Could it be because the baby does not dare pinch a hard finger,
but the soft nipple it will?  I was a bit stumped, and also no matter how
deep we got the latch, the mother was still feeling pinching.  The palate
was not a bubble, and only slightly high, but not to the extent that I
would imagine such a severe pinch.  Any suggestions?
