I see a risk in parents becoming accustomed to the use of formula......or
worse yet, to consider an good weight gain to be because of the formula.
Formula causes TOO MANY PROBLEMS for me to not encourage a mom to get off it
as soon as I have contact with her. I set up a plan with them.....some have
the constitution for cold turkey and constant nursing.....some need a
mathematical system of dropping so many ounces so many feedings and it takes
a few days longer to get rid of it. Either way.....I rid the situation of
formula absolutely as quickly as possible. And do my best not to mutter too
loudly about whomever got them started on the supplementing road to begin
with. :)
