The Wigmore Hall and Barbican both stop putting on concerts in August but
there are some at the South Bank:  http://www.sbc.org.uk

Perhaps I can remind listmembers of the existence of my page for notifying

It's just me using it at the moment (most recently for Mahler 4 at the
RFH).  Unfortunately I'm not sure I'll be able to make any Proms this year;
I'll have to make do with the radio.
