Let me just add my agreement to this, based on my personal experience as
well. My 3rd child was FTT due to what turned out to be intolerance to
bovine and other animal proteins. I ate relatively little meat as it was,
but had to get it all out (beef, pork/ham, chicken - only fish remained)
before he started gaining weight and having normal bowel movements. This
despite the fact that I eliminated dairy products when he was a month old.
That helped some, in that his bowel movements were closer to normal than
while I was on dairy, but he still couldn't gain more than 12oz a month.
Eliminating pork/ham, chicken, and what I humorously refer to as "the rest
of the cow" (i.e., not just the milk, but the meat as well) turned him into
a completely different baby. He's just as intolerant of pigs as he is of
cows. Cheating with a little ham at Thanksgiving one year sent that boy
into a 24-hour vomiting & lethargy tailspin the likes of which I will never
forget. So did some soup made with beef broth. Chicken I'm not too sure of
since he tolerates items cooked with eggs, but he's never been willing to
try chicken and honestly I'd be afraid to let him. He is now nearly 7 years
old and a confirmed vegetarian.....

Just personal experience, but......is mom consuming dairy products in any
manner? The FTT combined with the gassy combined with the green poop could
definitely be an intolerance for the milk protein. A complete elimination
of
it in mom's diet will tell you soon.
