Boy!  Talk about a leap!  One could equally say that it's not on because
most people don't really care for classical music in general and opera in
particular more than they care for talk (I have no idea whether this is
true).  NPR stations depend on contributions from listeners.  The more
listeners, the more money, runs the theory.  Therefore, they do marketing
studies.  I think it's far more likely that marketing, rather than an Evil
Media Political Conspiracy, dictates their programming.
