I worked with some very non-breastfeeding-supportive pediatricians at
my last job. They allowed us LCs to mention fenugreek to mothers if we
also said that it was not FDA approved, but categorized GRAS, 'Generally
Regarded As Safe by the FDA.
Someone else on lactnet suggested this wording 'Some mothers have
found that their milk supply increases with Mother's Milk tea, or
fenugreek' or fill in the blank.
However, there IS a study on the effectiveness of fenugreek from the
last year or two. Some other lactnut must have the references.
Good luck, because when I showed one of the pedis copied pages from
Ruth Lawrence's book on tongue tie, Kathleen Higgin's book, the JHL
article by Brian Palmer, she said the references were not 'main stream'
enough.
