I have mentioned this case on other occasions on Lactnet...

I have a friend who consumed large amounts of peanuts while pregnant and
nursing. Her son was frequently ill as a baby and was tested for CF and
diagnosed with asthma. He had a bad reaction after eating the crust of a
peanut butter sandwich on his first birthday. Not all out anaphylaxis but
serious enough to merit a trip to the ER. That was the first time he had
directly consumed peanut products. Do I think he was going to be nut
allergic "anyway"? Yes. But, I do think his reaction was intensified due
to his in utero and breastfeeding exposure.

This child has other health issues. He is autistic and sensitive to gluten
and casein and is on a pretty restricted diet because of his food issues.

He self-weaned right around his first birthday and both his mom and I
believed that it was due, in part, to not feeling well when he nursed.
