        Job Opening


The Department of Archaeology and Landscapes at Thomas Jefferson's Poplar
Forest is seeking qualified candidates to fill an opening in the archaeology
laboratory. The position will begin in May and continue through the end of
2001, with funding probable for 2002.  Staff works a 37.5 hour week.
Benefits include paid sick days, vacation and health insurance coverage.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in
Anthropology or a related discipline and will have held previous employment
in laboratory positions.  Familiarity with the material culture of the 19th
century is essential.  The candidate should also have strong database
skills.
