I won't recommend it, but the "random" approach does maximize the surprise
element and would likely result in a collection of great looking cd covers.

Do most of you buy recordings you heard before purchase? It's rare that I
hear any of a disc before I buy it, and I can't say I have much desire to
hear it first.  Those first impressions can be deceiving.  Also, there's
much more adventure with the unknown.
