Robyn,
I love your ingenuity. I am not surprised that the baby cannot latch well for
long, these little ones are sometimes working with such low tone and and get
tired very quickly. I hope the mom will persevere too. If the mom knows all
the advantages of just protecting her supply, so her baby can get all the
terrific benefits only SHE can provide, that might keep her going. Baby will
take a long time to feed, and not be easy, no matter how fed. At least with
her milk, and her using the special bottle she can give him the best, AND
give it in a way that respects what his body is currently capable of, not
overwhelming him with flow like a regular bottle might and saving him from
being all panicky and not enjoying feeding.
Good luck, Robyn, she is lucky to have you in her corner!

mom calls me...:)
